Who we are

Seattle Fair Plumber Association has as members small family owned plumbing companies interested in maintaining our traditional craft in the neighborhoods where we live, in and around Seattle Washington.

We are skilled reputable plumbers. We are not salesmen. We do not spend large amounts of money on advertising - which saves our customers money. We are established service companies that have good reputations and solid local ties within the communities in which we live and work.

Our members all work by the hour or by the job. You can choose the method you prefer in most situations when you hire us. Small jobs and repairs are typically charged by the hour. Larger jobs are usually bid at a firm price if desired. The cost basis is always dependent upon how much time and material is anticipated to be utilized no matter which method of pricing is used. You, the customer can request a firm price if you want or need one before any work is begun.

Our plumbers are paid by the hour. They do not work on commission. We feel that plumbers working on commission are salesmen first, mechanics second and that there is a conflict with your interests.

Our members desire repeat business and have always had our cost basis transparent to the public. Many plumbing service companies today are not "up front" about how they base their charges in spite of their advertising slogans. We are truly "up front" with how we relate to our customers. If you have any questions, need advice or a cost estimate please contact our members, fair plumbers every one.

We are full service plumbing companies. We do residential service and repair work, water repiping, pumps, kitchen and bath plumbing, water leaks, water heater repair and replacements, water service metering, submetering of gas and water.

Members are licensed and bonded contractors, use only licensed plumbers and have excellent reputations. Members average more than twenty five years in business.

Why would you hire a stranger with big ads or a rooter company pretending to be a plumbing company? Do you think they are inexpensive? Why won't they talk about costs over the phone? (try it). Washington laws are weak regarding contractor licensing (anybody can get a contractor license in this state) but not every contractor has real licensed trained plumbers.

Please call us with your plumbing service needs. Check us out.

Please sign our petition to Senator Jeanne Kohl-Wells (Senate chair of the labor and consumer committes) re: change the law regarding plumber licensing and unlicensed plumber advertising.
